Younie Farmstead - Site of the Original 1854 Convention
(Private property ~ not open to public.)
Called by keynote speaker Frederick Douglass "the crowning convention of them all," the original June 1854 Sugar Grove Anti-Slavery Convention was held on this site. Joining Douglass were "The Underground Railroad King" JW Loguen of Syracuse, and Lewis G. Clarke the real-life George Harris in the novel Uncle Tom's Cabin.
