Site of Shadeland
Owned by the Powell family, Shadeland was a large and well-known stock farm. This beautiful farm bred Clydesdales and several other breeds of horses and livestock. Though it is no longer standing, Shadeland was reputed to have been a stop on the Underground Railroad. It is now the site of Most Holy Mother of God Serbian Orthodox Monastery and St. Sava Camp.
