The Erie Maritime Museum & U.S. Brig Niagara
Documents the War of 1812, the Battle of Lake Erie and other chapters in Erie's maritime history. The exhibit "Amongst My Best Men," developed by Eagle Scout Charles Rush, focuses on the important role of African-Americans in the Battle of Lake Erie. A historical marker on the Museum’s grounds honors the "African-American Sailors in the Battle of Lake Erie."
