Little Africa
A settlement of freemen before the Civil War, Little Africa stood as a beacon of hope where escaping slaves felt secure enough to stay; building cabins and planting gardens to benefit future slaves escaping on the Underground Railroad. Constituting several hundred acres, it currently appears from route 77 as an inaccessible cliff.
