The Site of the Glenni Scofield House

While a student at Hamilton College, Glenni Scofield helped to found the institution’s abolition society. He become a member of the State House of Representatives (1849-1851) and served in the Senate (1857-1859), where he voted to oppose the fugitive slave act and against any expansion of slavery. He was President of the Nebraska Meeting in Warren County on March 9, 1854. The purpose of the meeting was to unite and oppose the Kansas Nebraska Act.
