May 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17. Meadville Community Theatre presents ‘A Night at the Opry: a Salute to the Grand Ole Opry and the Marx Brothers’, directed by Tom Hall. This country music revue will focus on the early days of country music. Highlights include some of the first stars of Country Music: Jimmie Rodgers, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Roy Acuff, the Carter Family and Patsy Cline. Foot-stomping, toe-tapping and belly-laughing with our live house band and featured comedy acts. In addition, each performance will host a different “Guest Star”, such as ‘Picks & Hammers’ and ‘Gypsy Dave & the Stump Jumpers’. Tickets: Adults $9.00 Students and Seniors $7.00 Cash or Checks only

Hot air balloon event held each year at Robertson Field, Allegheny College. This popular hot air balloon event features over 30 balloons and a beautiful night glow with 10 balloons. Two high school students who are worlds apart – the school’s hoops star and the president of the science club – secretly decide to audition for their school’s musical, a decision that turns both their world and their school upside down.

The largest agricultural fair in the state of Pennsylvania! Each year various 4-H Clubs, local farmers and many others come to show their achievements and to compete for hard-earned awards. Truck and tractor pulls, harness racing, livestock shows and auctions, produce and animal judging, homemaker awards and the Miss Crawford County Scholarship Pageant are among the featured events. This year’s featured musical entertainers are Toby Keith, and Gretchen Wilson with Blake Shelton.

All aboard the OC&T for “Blood Relatives.” The Stromboli family has gathered at a memorial service to bid farewell to Mama Filomena who, three weeks ago at the ripe old age of 85, finally went to that big pizza parlor in the sky. On had for this solemn occasion are her kids and their respective spouses or significant others. Naturally at such a poignant occasion, emotions are high as everyone realizes that they will have to go on with their lives without Mama. Oh yeah, emotions are also high because this is the day when contents of Mama’s will are finally to be made public. Who has been lucky enough to be included in the all-important document? No one knows. Train departs Perry Street Station at 5:30pm.

The Jaycees are a group of men and women, ages 21 to 39. We are affiliated with the Jaycees International, the United States Junior Chamber, and the State of Pennsylvania. The Meadville Chapter was chartered in 1951 and has been actively serving in the Meadville area ever since. The Jaycees is a leadership training and community service organization, and strive to better the community and themselves by providing projects and programs in the areas or community, management, and individual development.
